<p>- Consultant (1)</p>
<p>From IIM or equivalent with 5-10 years of business experience, out of which at least 2-3 years experience should be in an internet/ mobile VAS company. The ideal candidate would have worked in or started a web 2.0 company, or worked in a business consulting firm. Role would involve leading client engagements, and advising clients on social media strategy, including community platforms and social CRM programs.</p>
<p>- Associate Consultant (1)</p>
<p>From IIT or equivalent with 2-10 years of technology or business experience. Familiarity with content management systems like Expression Engine/ WordPress/ Drupal/ Joomla and social APIs like Facebook/ OpenSocial/ Twitter API and the ability to pick up new technologies is essential. The ideal candidate would have both design and development skill sets. Role would involve overseeing the design and development of community and social CRM program infrastructure.</p>

<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p>
<p>US-based Semiconductor Company with significant India presence is looking for Manager, Accounting to oversee critical India finance operations. The company is seeking a high-energy, hands-on individual desiring a challenging position with diverse responsibilities. This position offers significant opportunities to willing individuals to streamline processes.</p>
<p>The Manager, Accounting position reports to the Controller, Finance located in Bangalore. The position oversees a staff of 1 in Bangalore. Core duties include the following:</p>
<p>• Represent the company on key financial/tax/compliance matters with governmental agencies<br />
• Oversee accounting activities in accordance with the company policies and procedures and responsible for   accurate and timely financial reporting and statements of India legal entities.<br />
• Oversee external statutory, tax, customs, STPI and other statutory reporting<br />
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements (to the extent applicable to India)<br />
• Maintain relationships with outsourced accountants, shared service centre, solicitors, banks and key vendors<br />
• Liaise directly with U.S. accounting, tax, legal, shareholder services and payroll departments, as required<br />
• Liaise with Singapore shared service centre for vendor payments and accounting activities and reporting<br />
• Develop and manage to organization benchmarks<br />
• Ensure ease of doing business</p>
<p>This position requires occasional travel to U.S and Singapore. Current travel percentage is approximately 5% but may increase as business grows.</p>
<p>Skill And Qualifications<br />
The ideal candidate will be a hard-working energetic individual with the following qualifications:</p>
<p>• Chartered Accountant or CPA<br />
• Minimum 6-10 years of related experience<br />
• Proven track record as a contributory member to the management team with the ability to lead and work alongside an existing finance team.<br />
• Dynamic, strategic, self starter, possessing acute business acumen and strong leadership capabilities.<br />
• Able to set priorities and work to tight deadlines<br />
• Resists passing the buck around, strives to solve the problem<br />
• Solid attention to details<br />
• Ability to think globally<br />
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to team with individuals in diverse business and cultural environments<br />
• Willingness to work hands-on in addition to developing and executing the strategic vision for the department.<br />
• Familiarity with local statutory reporting requirements<br />
• Sound technical knowledge and strong operational and financial background.<br />
• Familiarity with US Sarbanes-Oxley Act is an added benefit.<br />
• Experience in MNC environment/semiconductor industries will be an added advantage.<br />
• Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word).<br />
• Experience with Peoplesoft or other ERP system a plus.<br />
• Develop and manage to organization benchmarks</p>

The index edged up by 1.3% backed by a slight improvement in hiring activity in IT-Software and BPO industries. The index scaled to 727 in July’09 as compared to 718 in June ‘09. On a three monthly moving average, the index inched up from 686 in June ‘09 to 703 in July ‘09. Industries that have seen an improvement in the Three Month Moving Average for two consecutive months include Real Estate, Semiconductors, Banking, Auto and IT.</span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif;">“The uptrend over consecutive months is encouraging. Improvement in hiring activity in lagging industries, such as IT, Real Estate, Retail and Auto, echoes optimism. However, continued increases in hiring activity over the next few months will indicate a turnaround in economic activity and in hiring,” said Sumeet Singh, National Head – Marketing and Communications, Info Edge.</span></p>

While most of the other cities saw a marginal drop in hiring activity. Delhi-NCR saw hiring activity move up by 7% in July ’09 as compared to June ’09. Hiring activity in Mumbai picked up for a second consecutive month, albeit marginally by 3%. Hiring activity in Bangalore, Chennai and Pune were down by 4%, 6% and 1% respectively.</span></p>

Hiring activity continued to soar in Pharma and Biotech industry, with the index up by 10%. Indicating some revival, hiring activity in Auto and Auto Ancillary, Real Estate and Retail, went up by 11%, 16% and 10% respectively.</span></p>

Sales and Business Development professionals and Accountancy professionals saw hiring activity inch up by 4% and 5% respectively. Hiring went up marginally in IT – Software by 4%. There seemed some emphasis in hiring in Engineering Design: Research and Development where hiring went up by 16%. </span></p>

According to the Total Jobs Index, the index peaked in Sep’08 at 1004 and bottomed in Dec’08 at 739, so far.</span></p>

July 2008 has been taken as the base month with a score of 1000 and the subsequent monthly index is compared with data for July 2008. Data has been sourced from Naukri.com and it reflects job listings and therefore hiring trends on the site. Jobs have been categorized by location, functional area, industry, experience bucket. The index has been analyzed across Cities/ Functional Area &#8211; Deptt / Industry verticals. The report (produced monthly) shows hiring trends across industry sectors, geography and functional areas. More than 34000 national and international clients used Naukri.com in 2008-2009, leading to high reliability of data.</span></p>

Does pay matter?</p>
<p>Workers who are elated to simply have a job aren&#8217;t squawking about money, and according to a Randstad survey, they now name job security and benefits among the top factors in their happiness. Competitive pay is moving down the scale. Another expediter is demographics. The massive boomer generation is entering its retirement years undersaved and in need of continued employment. Yet boomers are determined to scale back hours and stress, and some at least are happy to trade a big salary for work with meaning and which allows for a better work/life balance, so long as the bills still get paid.&#8221;</p></div>
