Indians have neither democracy as Hindu majority party BJP is NOT ruling nor secularism as mosques and churches determine election outcomes via their election violence, fraud, gimmicks…….Our issues in India have nothing much to do with any religion but everything to do with PEACE AND PROSPERITY. We definitely dont have any PEACE and very little or noPROSPERITY [with more than 70% poverty stricken and govt being largely dysfunctional to deliver on even BASIC CIVIL RIGHTS of RIGHT TO LIVE]……… My vision of ***nation-wide*** BOYCOTT OF ALL khan MOVIES AND CRICKET as well as WESTERN goods and services,……………. is based on two NON-VIOLENT Gandhian precepts/concepts-A. SOFT POWER of protests by writing to media, novels, movies, cartoons, poems….etc. etc; B. DIPLOMATIC OFFENSIVE of boycott proven by successful historic evidence of arabs boycotting Danish goods, Americans boycotting French goods, blacks boycotting the whites….etc. etc.in the current context of being in the brink of humanitarian crisis of unprecendented proportions -
a) too many poor like > 70%;…..
b) Kashmir jihadis well inside Hindustan;…
c) drugs being targetted on our youths like Rahul Mahajan;…….(poor poor little rich boy ! :D )
d) our women being seduced or abducted into conversion by forced marriagese) our children being seduced or forced into conversion bysweet-talk or enticements;…….
f) our nullified political space from nexus of commie/naxal+congi+minority evil axis; etc……….all pointing to the tyranny of the minority while we are the silent – nay, the silenced majority……….. The ruling exclusionary elite have not delivered any +ve results so far in 60 years; and their minorityism is not working as it is causing more unsafe and less free environment for the vast overwhelming of close to 1 bil masses in Nepal and India – i.e the civil society…….
FACT-1 We dont export much – not cars, nor air-planes nor heavy machinery or even weapons like china and the west do. We import even Ganesh idols from china and the chinese laughing obese/fat man for luck and “feng shui” [out of superstition!!!]…………..

…….;
FACT-2 ROSA PARKS led a boycott of the white americans for one full year and it DID produce +ve results with no -ve consequences, Arabs boycotting Danish goods, Americans boycotting French goods, blacksboycotting the whites….etc. etc.
FACT- 3 Our own boycott of khan movie ‘fanaa’ kept the zillion khans nervous …
SO, BOYCOTT WORKS! Boycott bollywood and cricket for social justice!

rang de basanti – overhyped tripe?

So feels the GreatBong !

Let’s accept it. All of us, at some point of time, have muttered under our breath : “The only solution to India’s problems is to line up all politicians and shoot them.” It’s a desire we all share, a desire shaped out of decades of watching the ruling babus shamelessly aggrandizing themselves at the cost of the country.

There is indeed nothing wrong with wanting this to happen.

Just like there is nothing wrong with dreaming of rolling in the sands of Mauritius with a bikini-clad Mallika Sherawat or dancing close with a bare-torsoed Salman Khan (depending on your gender and sexual orientation).

What connects “shooting politicians” with “rubbing against Mallika” is that they are both fantasies. While many a director have realized that the way to make a quick buck is to pander to the second fantasy, there have been comparitively few that have realized the potential of playing up to the first.

Which is what Rakesh Mehra, the director of “Rang De Basanti” has done. He has sold a fantasy. Except that unlike the seller of skin flicks, he has packaged his blatantly commercial exercise with a wrapper of pulp nobility— a kind of jingoistic activism that makes people feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Did you like RDB? Do you agree with GB’s pronouncement that we shouldn’t take it too seiously?
